The Food Pantry was started in 1990 and is located in Pilgrim Church. The Food Pantry entrance is in the rear corner opposite the cemetary. The Pantry is operated under the auspices of The United Parishes of Southborough which currently consists of St. Ann Parish, St. Matthews Parish, First Community Church, St. Marks Church and Pilgrim Church. Many volunteers from the five sponsoring churches staff the Pantry on a rotating basis. People who are members of the sponsoring churches or who are residents of Southborough are eligible to be helped. Our motto is “We exist to help our neighbors in time of need.”
Our donations of food come from the local church congregations, schools, businesses, organizations like the Scouts and the Rotary Club, and from people like you. Donations can be dropped off during the hours the Pantry is open, inside Pilgrim Church side entrance opposite Town Hall when the church is open or at any of the participating churches when they are open.
We are partners with the Worcester County Food Bank in Shrewsbury and are able to purchase food there at drastically reduced rates. Monetary donations are always welcomed and needed. We have to buy food when donations are down, usually during late spring and summer months. We also have a Heating Emergency Assistance Fund to help our Food Pantry clients with their heating bills. Checks can be made out to “Southborough Food Pantry” and can be mailed in c/o Pilgrim Church, P.O. Box 281, Southborough, MA 01772.
The Food Pantry is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit charity so donations are tax deductible.
Pantry operating hours are Tuesdays from 7-8 p.m. and Fridays from 10-11 a.m. If you have any questions, call 508-485-4847 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We thank you for your continued generosity to the Southborough Food Pantry.
As most food items are date sensitive, please be sure that your donation is not out of date. Donations may be left in the side entrance by the office.
If you know of anyone who could benefit from the Food Pantry, please encourage them to come. Pantry hours are Tuesdays from 7-8 p.m. and Fridays from 10-11 a.m.
