Part one of four! Is America losing its faith? This is the first part of four responding to this article by Bryan Walsh: Americans is Losing Its Religion

The poem that Jonathan read during the prayers is an excerpt from Emily Dickinson’s “I died for Beauty.”

I died for beauty, but was scarce
Adjusted in the tomb,
When one who died for truth was lain
In an adjoining room.

He questioned softly why I failed?
“For beauty,” I replied.
“And I for truth – the two are one;
We brethren are,” he said.

And so, as kinsmen met a-night,
We talked between the rooms,
Until the moss had reached our lips,
And covered up our names.

  1. Thank you for providing me a fun rest stop to Recharge and take a break from the challenges and all the crazy news that life continues to throw at me. It is great just to be present to your conversation and allow myself to listen and think through some of the opportunities that we have to change and grow heaven on earth. Best to both of you.
