Has Pilgrim Got Faith? Consider It Confirmed!

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you were marked with a seal for the day of redemption.

Ephesians 4:30

Thank you to the Confirmation Class of 2023…And We’re Not Done Yet!

The photo above was taken by Mireille Eastman from where she watched our worship online this week. It captures the very special moment when we all came together for a laying on of hands blessing for our newest members. Was it special? You bet it was!

This week three of our four Confirmation Candidates read their statements of faith before the congregation and received the right hand of fellowship, becoming our newest members. I am so grateful for each of them, and we plan to share those statements in the coming weeks. The statements are honest. They are rich with theological reflection. I’m proud of each of these young people.

Thank you to each of their families for being an important part of the process. This thanks includes extended family who made the trip to be here. Worship this week felt more celebratory, and it was wonderful.

But That’s Not All…

Our fourth confirmand will be reading her statement soon, so please stay tuned. I will let you all know when that’s scheduled, and I hope to see the rest of the Confirmation class here to celebrate with her. Thank you to the Deacons and the entire church for making this special day shine.

We’ll begin the confirmation process again in the Fall, so let’s be in touch if you have a young person in mind for this life-affirming right of passage. We typically confirm high school freshman and sophomores, but it’s flexible. Talk to you soon!
