This week we celebrate the Advent Sunday of Joy!
Every once in a while, you get to have a film experience unlike almost any other. This can happen in animated films when they show us visions that are not possible in the real world, blending nature and imagination in new and visually stunning ways. Studio Ghibli in Japan is famous for such work, and Ponyo is easily one of their finest examples.
Ponyo looks like a simple enough story: two young people meet and form a special bond. But it’s so much more! Come thrill to a big-screen experience of vivid imagination, where everything is not always as it first seemed. You’ll see themes of love, family dynamics, challenging relationships, but most of all: JOY!
Friday December 15th at 7pm in the Fellowship Hall of Pilgrim Church
We’ll hope you’ll join us for a great film for all ages in the Fellowship Hall of Pilgrim Church this Friday night. The Popcorn Bar will be open (with always at least three different types of popcorn) as well as sodas and water, but feel free to bring any snacks or beverages you like.
We’ll watch the movie together and then have a short discussion about the themes and ideas we saw. Rev. Charley will also have a discussion sheet for folks to take with them to continue the talk within their families.
Also please bring something for the Southborough Food Pantry if you’d like to donate. You can see their list of current needs here.
