Recently during worship we heard from Julie Connelly, a member of our Pilgrim Church Outreach Team.

Julie shared that when she joined Outreach, she learned how many organizations outside our church are supported by our Pilgrim pledges and donations. 

We support DCF through our annual School Backpack program, Pathways Shelter with Easter baskets, and Soutborough Food Pantry with food and supplies.

And Pilgrim’s Outreach team has also been supporting many organizations by writing checks to support their work.

So, who do we currently serve with our financial support?

• Marlboro Community Cupboard
• Southborough Food Pantry 
• Southborough Youth and Family Services
• Fresh Start Furniture Bank
• Be Like Brit
• Department of Children and Families
• Pathways Shelter

Over the next several months you’ll hear from Outreach and hopefully from some representatives of these organizations, about how they do what they do. Knowing more builds trust and confidence that your pledges are going to great organizations!

We also want to hear feedback from the congregations about what other charities you support that aren’t on our list.

Maybe next year we’ll be hearing a presentation from a charity you suggested to Outreach. As Julie said, “Give generously knowing that we’re supporting not just us at Pilgrim but our wider community as well.”
