That together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
Romans 15:6-7 (ESV)
This Week We Are Making Room for More Ideas in Worship
We continue to seek creative ways to invite folks to visit and attend worship at Pilgrim Church. At a recent Church Council Meeting, someone said they were interested in learning just why folks were attending in the first place, which is what has inspired the “Find Your WHY at Pilgrim” theme for this year.
Of course, if you’ve been a church member or a Christian of any sort, you might question that. Isn’t it obvious? We attend worship to worship, to give God glory, and to celebrate the words of witness of Jesus in our lives. But after that, we are here seeking many things: salvation, love, acceptance, harmony, service, education, and many others.
It’s All Good, Unless We Don’t Share!
So in the spirit of asking “What’s your why,” we should then follow up with, “Tell us about it.” This week in worship, the sermon time will begin with a message from Charley and then shift into small group discussions. We’ll spend five minutes sharing our thoughts with others, and then a few minutes sharing some of what we’ve heard with each other.
Please come ready to discuss why Pilgrim matters to you, and what you get from sharing your faith with us. We’ll be taking notes, unless you specify something is “off the record.” We hope to use the insights we gather to invite others to visit Pilgrim Church.
Some come ready to listen, ready to speak, and we hope you’ll enjoy something…a little different. See you Sunday at 10 am!
