This Week We Tried Something New at Pilgrim Church
During my sermon, I asked people to stand as they were able, and I then invited them to move and stand next to someone they don’t usually sit with in church. Guess what happened? The “frozen chosen” were not frozen in the least! Folks got up and moved around the sanctuary and found someone new to sit with.
These new arrangements constituted our small group discussion to celebrate our Stewardship Season (and annual theme) of “Find Your Why at Pilgrim Church!” I think we had fun, and I got a bunch of great responses, all of which are encapsulated in the word cloud above.
Do you remember Word Clouds?
The size of each word is a function of how many times that word was repeated in people’s responses. I.e. the more a word was written, the bigger it is in the graphic.
This isn’t the whole story of Pilgrim Church, but it’s a good indicator of why the people who were here last Sunday keep coming back. We plan to use these words and ideas to market our church to new folks who don’t know us yet. If all goes well, you’ll find them featured in new communications and invitations to communities around us.
Brave New Marketing for a Brave New World
Fifty years ago, we rarely had to even think about such things. We opened the church doors and people came in, because that was just what people did back then. Thank you to all who participated, and for a chance to represent ourselves authentically to people who might be looking for us.
Stay tuned over the next few weeks, as our Stewardship program continues with more speakers. Thanks to Kevin LaRoche for sharing this week, and we look forward to hearing from Cindy Torilli, Connie Anick and others.
