Last night Pilgrim Church hosted a group of folks representing several different world faiths.
Sikhs, Latter-Day Saints, Muslims, Congregationalists, Episcopalians and Jews gathered together in our sanctuary to share stories, scriptures and prayers for unity and peace. I felt really privileged to be a part of it.
It was a night of warm sharing, kind words, and a real sense of hope for how we journey together through Thanksgiving and beyond.
After worship, we shared food and conversation in Fellowship Hall
I learned we had folks visiting from Westborough, Southborough, Marlborough, Ashland, Wayland, Grafton, and many other towns. It felt really great to unite in thanksgiving. We prayed for peace and unity after a contentious election season. We gave one another the gift of hope for our future together.
I was energized, hearing the scriptures of others, and seeing the crowd in our sanctuary. This is just one of those services I’m already looking forward to for next year!
Special thanks to all the Pilgrims who helped out with refreshments, as well as with the service. Thanks to Peter for providing music. Thanks also to Dr. Safdar Medina, who really got the ball rolling on this special service again.
If anyone would like to continue the interfaith conversation, there’s a special event about Islam in Westborough on December 7th through the Central Massachusetts Connections in Faith. You can read all about it here. The event is free, and lunch is provided.

Thank you Charlie and all who contributed to make it a success!
It was a fantastic service with wonderful fellowship (and food) afterwards. It will be a highlight of my Thanksgiving celebration!
