Caring for One Another

For God is not unjust; God will not overlook your work and the love that you showed for God’s sake in serving the saints, as you still do.

This week, Pilgrim Church will celebrate two important people and the lives they’ve touched.

One of the most important features of the early church established by the followers of Jesus was the way they remembered those who’d made a big impact on their lives. We continue this tradition at Pilgrim Church by celebrating those who’ve passed and reflecting on how they’ve helped to make us who we are.

In that spirit, join us Friday, April 4th at 2pm as we remember Bill Owen. There will be a service of remembrance, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall here at Pilgrim. An added bonus for this service will be the return of former Pilgrim Music Director Kathy Kutz playing organ for us. We look forward to spending time with Bill’s family and to celebrating his legacy of helping others and building great memories.

You can read Bill’s obituary here. If you’d like to make a donation in his honor, follow this link the Amesbury Carriage Museum.

Then Saturday morning April 5th at 10am, please join us for a service celebrating the life of Susanne Dumont. This service of remembrance will also be followed by a reception in Fellowship Hall. Sue’s service includes musical duets sung by Matt Pietro and Colleen Clark. Sue was a big part of Pilgrim for many years, and it would be great to see you at this special service as well.

You can read Sue’s obituary here. If you’d like to send flowers or plant a tree in her honor, you may do so here.

Special Thanks to the Women’s Fellowship of Pilgrim Church for coordinating each reception.

When we have the opportunity to care for one another in times of need, it’s great to know that faithful folks are willing to step up for one another. Thanks to all who participate, and our prayers are with the Owen and Dumont families at this time.
