When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, ‘Woman, you are set free from your ailment.’

-Luke 13:12

This Palm Sunday at 8:45 and 11:30 in the Pilgrim Parlor will be our final sessions of the “Jesus Sees Women” Study.

You’re welcome to join us whether this is your first time or your sixth. Every passage is different, just as all the women Jesus saw in the each are unique. Your voice and insight is part of what makes this time so special, so feel welcome whether you’ve attended some or none of the previous sessions.

The focus scripture for this week is Luke 13:10-17, and it’s the story of a woman set free from a back ailment. While we may have different modern understandings of how pain comes and goes, Jesus takes her plight very seriously. He gives her a path to healing that makes her body well and her spirit whole. That should be welcome no matter how we interpret her ailment, whether in the light of modern science or through the lens and practice of Jesus’ time.

This will be our final session, because next week is, as you might imagine, busy busy busy!

Next Thursday, April 17th join us for a Soup and Bread and a special Tenebrae Maundy Thursday service. Food will start at 6pm and the service will be at 7.

Then Easter Sunday, April 20th, our schedule runs like this:

6:30 am, join us at the Marina at Hopkinton State Park for a special Easter Sunrise service. Rev. Stephanie Bradbury of St. Mark’s Episocopal Church will bring the message.

8:15 am in the Pilgrim Church Fellowship Hall, our annual Easter Pancake Breakfast will bring food, fun and fellowship to the fore. If you’d like to help in putting this event together, please get in touch with Michael Hennessy!

10:00 am in the Pilgrim Church Sanctuary, Easter Worship in all it’s glory!

We hope you can join us for some–or ALL–of these Holy Week Events. See you there!
