Thank you to everyone who attended our Community Iftar Dinner sponsored by Neighbors for Peace
Saturday Night, people of four faiths from all over Southborough (and more than a few from Westborough) attended our Community Iftar Dinner. This event would not have happened without the efforts of our own Freddie Gillespie, as well as friend of the congregation Dr. Safdar Mohammed, who formed Neighbors for Peace with Rev. Phil Labelle several years ago.
We had Muslims, Jews, Sikhs and Christians (as well as probably some others) who all came together to celebrate the breaking of the Ramadan fast. It felt amazing. We had great conversations, Fellowship Hall was full of families, and the food was excellent. We hope if you couldn’t attend that you’ll consider joining us for this event next year. It will return!
Thanks to everyone who is participating in our Lenten Series, “When Did We See You?” A Lenten Exploration of Poverty & Wealth
Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Mae Magill wrote an excellent study and we’re learning more about wealth, charity, and spiritual poverty together. New Englanders are not famous for engaging with discussions of money, let alone money and faith! In this series, we toss the taboos aside and embrace the journey. Join us any Sunday from now through March 29th at either 8:45 or 11:30 am.
The sermons throughout Lent will be focused on this material, but if you’d like to get the book and read along, the experience will be richer. You may order it here, and thanks for being a part of this special series!
