Two weeks ago, we held our annual meeting for Pilgrim Church. During that meeting we heard from Financial Resources and Stewardship about the financial state of our church for the coming year. We have cut corners and reduced budgets in every conceivable area possible, and the numbers still came up just a little bit short…we were so close!

Well, the good news is that, just two weeks later we are just a bit closer. Yes, people continue to give and if just 2 or 3 more can be reached, we will have the resources that will allow us to cover the expenses for 2024…amazing! 

But here is an even more amazing part of this journey. While Pilgrim Church worked through a 2023 budget that showed a very large potential deficit, our membership kept giving and giving and giving again.  In 2023, 20 families paid more than their pledge amount ranging from $25 to $10,000 and we received 2 generous anonymous donations that helped with painting and the new roof. In 2024, 20% of the pledging families were new, 34% of the pledging families increased their pledges and we have been given yet another generous anonymous donation to help with needed repairs. This is truly a place filled with love and open hearts.
