Our Curriculum Powers our Kid’s Church…and Our Worship

Pastor Charley and Deacon Amy Sibley decided we should make sure we keep families connected at Pilgrim by making the Kid’s Church theme the Worship theme as well. So for the month of May, we’re talking about small steps we can take that yield big results.

The first step this first week is about belief, and specifically, belief in Jesus. You can read the whole scripture, Acts 1:1-11, at this link here.

The Book of Acts is a special part of our New Testament

It’s not a gospel, not a letter, but…something else. It describes the establishment of the early church of Jesus. Many have said that it seems like a continuation of the book of Luke, so in some ways, you could say this is Luke 2.0. Try reading the end of the gospel of Luke, and then go straight into Acts and you’ll see what we mean.

Acts is about a new community of faith struggling to establish itself. There’s detractors, there’s supporters, and the disciples are working hard to make connections around the world for people to hear the good news of Jesus.

The theme for today is you can take one small step to start, by believing in Jesus
