We are PGYG, Pilgrim Church’s Youth Group! This past summer we had the opportunity to work with an amazing organization called Sasha Bruce, in Washington DC. Sasha Bruce works with unhoused youth and teens in the DC area providing housing, educational support, mental health support, vocational opportunities, and caring for other necessities as well.
Over the past ten years PCYG has successfully built decks, stairs, ramps and other structures, as well as painting thousands of square feet of walls, painting decks, organizing entire basements, and helping to refurbish and further develop houses for teens that are unhoused.
This year, PCYG was able to paint a deck we had previously built, paint and organize donation storage areas and basement rooms, paint and prepare a room for group meetings, refresh and landscape one of their houses, put bathrooms back into a state of usefulness, and perfect the atmosphere within the house.
This trip is an amazing opportunity for service, community, growth of leadership, and providing a supportive place for all, while guiding our youth through their emotional and spiritual development.
Thank you so much Pilgrim Church for all of the financial and emotional support! We could not do this incredible work, or become the people that this enables us to become, without your generosity!
Thank You!
