The truth is, the people of these regions are always hit harder. I felt guilty worrying over our water damage at Pilgrim Church this week. I felt guiltier as the death toll in Syria and Turkey passed the 7000 mark, and it’s not even the whole story.

This week, my sermon will focus on how we take the lesson of Micah 6:8 and apply it to our lives and to our church. I hope to see you in worship Sunday at 10 am!
The term itself is a good tool. But in faith, we deal in uncertainties all the time. In fact, I’ve warned many from the pulpits where I’ve preached: don’t assume anyone with easy answers is right. Faith is a practice, a set of habits that grow in utility over time as we use them more.
Who would Jesus shoot? No one, of course. And certainly no one from the LGBTQ+ Community in 2022. for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick…
I believe voting is something that serious Christians take very seriously.
You can read the chapters of the book in advance of each Sunday, or you can read them after. Truly, you can just come to church and still get the message! Reading will put more meat on the bones and more power in the possibilities.
It’s important to recognize past trauma as you prepare for what’s next, whether you felt deeply affected at the time or not. It’s how we move on.
Service workers should think of us helpful. How can they do that if we’ve heaped abuse on them for things that are often out of their control?
The poetry of scripture is a wonderful reminder to look at the world outside of our own lenses. The way poets frame the world is often different from our day-to-day experience.
As Proverbs note, we’ve got a duty to be more like God when God is in the peaceful lane: slow to anger!
