Incline your ear to me; answer me speedily in the day when I call.
Psalm 102:2b (NRSVUe)

During a recent message, I noted that I’m done having allergies
“Fine for you,” you might say, “But what about the rest of us who are still ailing?” Well, honestly, I’m sure my allergies will bother me again. I’m just trying to take a very positive (maybe even an unreasonably positive) approach to one of my conditions. And plenty of people have since chimed in to tell that it’s not a great year for allergies. They are suffering, just as I’ve done in the past.
In light of that trial and others besides, I thought I’d remind you of an evergreen resource provided by Vanderbilt University. If you don’t know, they have the easily-accessible Revised Common DAILY Lectionary online. What’s that, you ask?
The Daily Lectionary is a list of scriptures, three per day, for every day of the year!
You can access it by following this link.
Each day includes one from the Old Testament, one from the New, and one from the Book of Psalms. On Sundays, it’s even got an Epistle in the mix. Not only is this resource great for finding a daily Bible reading, it also means you’ll always know what the lectionary readings are for Sunday Worship!
Bookmark that link and refer to it whenever you need. Like today, when the pollen is just being mean. Head over to Psalm 102 and, like the Psalmist, cry out for relief to God.
