The first film for the Pilgrim Church Movie Club will be Primetime, playing at AMC Framingham 16 this Thursday at 6:45
If you’d like to order tickets before the show, you can do so here. You can also buy them in person any day before the show.
It’s the October edition of our brand-new Pilgrim Church Movie Club, and October means two things for the movies.
- Lots of horror films
- The unofficial kickoff of “Oscar bait” season
Since Pastor Charley didn’t hear from a lot of people wanting to see scary movies, he went with a film that will probably put Robert Pattinson in contention for an Oscar for a Lead Actor in a Drama.
If you haven’t heard, Primetime follows the story of Chris Hansen, the host of television’s “To Catch a Predator.” The show was always problematic, and this film tackles some of the issues around the premise. It deals with morality, criminality, and some pretty big, bombastic personalities.
This is not a family-friendly film, and it’s rated R.
We’ll meet by 6:30 in the lobby of the AMC Framingham 16 Thursday evening.
This Sunday, October 11th after church, we’ll meet in the Pilgrim Church Parlor to discuss what we’ve seen.
You’re welcome to join the discussion if you haven’t seen the movie, and you’re welcome to see the movie on your own and then join our discussion Sunday. You can also come to the Sunday discussion if you just want to know more about the film before you see it, but we’ll probably spoil plot points as we talk about it, so be aware.
Thanks to all who decide to come out to see this film. Remember, we’re looking for places where our faith intersects with the art we view. As such, Pastor Charley will have a list of questions for folks to consider in our discussion Sunday morning. Feel free to bring questions of your own!
